What is Project Connect?

Project Connect is an initiative that Volunteering Peel has taken to increase voluntarism in the communities of Malton and Cawthra Park. The high schools in these areas are Lincoln M. Alexander S. S. School, Cawthra Park S.S. School and Gordan Graydon S.S. School. If you are a student in any of these three schools, look out for posters and keep your ears open for announcements regarding sign-up meetings for events that we participate in organized across Peel and Toronto.

The Youth in Action Grant

The United Way of Peel Region is offering a Youth in Action grant to youth in Peel with great ideas for improving the community. The Youth in Action grants provide up to $2,000 each for youth-led projects.

Volunteering Peel have teamed up with Volunteer MBC and the Social Planning Council of Peel to work on project: Project Connect.

Project Connect was one of the ten ideas chosen to be funded by United Way and we have received a $2,000 grant.

Project Name: Project Connect

Purpose: Uniting Malton and Cawthra through Group-Based Volunteering.

More Info: Engage youth in positive peer interaction through youth volunteerism within their community. The project will target areas identified as having low levels of volunteerism.
